5 best budget gaming CPUs for gaming

Intel and AMD. People are often confused about which brand they should go with when buying a good processing unit or CPU. Here in this blog, we'll discuss the same with your pocket put-on safe bet.

1. AMD Ryzen 5 5500 -

The Ryzen 5500 from AMD's side comes with 6 cores and multithreaded support of up to 12 threads. The chipset allows overclocking to get its full performance from the base clock set at 3.6GHz bootable to 4.2GHz with a TDP of just 65W.

Note - At 4K resolution, you may struggle a bit, but if 2K is fine for you, this is one of the best GPUs to get started with.

You get 16MB of L3 cache - making it a little disappointing at first - but looking at the budget - it's the best deal to go with!

2. Intel Core i3-14100F -

With Intel's latest 14th-generation processor, this is the fastest Core i3 processor available in the market with a boost clock reaching 4.7GHz at max. It's a quad-core chip with 8 threads for multitasking with PCIe 5.0 support making it a top contender in our list.

Looking at its specs, it can be seen as a future-proof investment with such a low price making it the best value for money

Note - If you are geek looking for overclocking a CPU, then this CPU might be not the perfect choice for you as Intel's F series don't support overclocking!

3. Intel Core i5-11400F -

We know we made a big jump from discussing about 14th-gen processor to now an 11th-gen but here's a catch!

It is actually its price-to-performance ratio which makes it a best value chip to go for.

It's built with Rocket Lake architecture with 6 cores and 12 threads with a boost clock up to 4.4GHz and low power consumption of just 65W.

This card can run most modern titles at 1080p with ultra settings.

Note - This is a high performance card and hence we'll recommend you to get a decent air cooler too with it. Stock cooler might not be enough!

4. Intel Core i5-12400F -

This chip is pretty identical to its preceders and we might not talk much about the same specs again. But if everything is so similar then why we have put this chip on our list?

The reason is its architecture - Alder Lake Hybrid. This chip supports HyoerTgreading with 12 of its logical CPUs. The L3 cache has also increased from 12MB to 18MB making it a strong player in our list.

Note - If you're looking for a chip that is built on Alder Lake Hybrid and has support for hyperthreading, this is the perfect option. But if you're in want of an effiecicy core, this is not the perfect choice we can recommend!

5. AMD Ryzen 5 5600 -

This processor seriously never gets old! The 5600 chipset is from Zen 3 architecture with 6 cores and 12 threads with a large 32MB L3 cache making it the best buy for gamers.

The clock speed can be overclocked from 3.50GHz to 4.40GHz with no dedicated cooler needed with a TDP of just 65W.

Note - This processor comes with a heavy duty Wraith Stealth cooler so you don't need to buy anything separately - even why you're overclocking it.

So these were the 5 processor chips you can buy to elevate your gaming without breaking your wallet. For more easy-to-read articles, do yourself a favor and get added to our email list to get Savvy Everyday!
